The ACT Government is proposing to upgrade William Slim Drive to a dual carriageway between Ginninderra Drive and the Barton Highway.

There are around 20,000 vehicle movements each day on William Slim Drive and this is only going to increase with further housing development in surrounding areas.

Key features of the duplication include:

  • two lanes in each direction between Ginninderra Drive and the Barton Highway
  • 6.4 kilometres of new on-road cycle lanes
  • new signalised intersection at Dumas Street/William Slim Drive
  • additional bus stops and upgrading of existing ones.

The draft design is now available for public display. There will be two drop-in information sessions in February and the project team will be available to answer questions about the design.

Session One:

Date: Wednesday 20 February 2019

Time: 4.30 pm to 6.30 pm

Location: Training Room 1, Gungahlin Library

Session Two:

Date: Friday 22 February 2019

Time:11 am to 1 pm

Location: Community Room, Belconnen Library
