This week activity has commenced on Horse Park Drive for stage 3 duplication between Well Station Drive and the Federal highway as the site office is set up and fencing goes up prior to construction beginning in coming weeks.
This work was originally planned to begin in mid-2017, however due to sensitive environmental issues involving high levels of acid sulphate found in the soil, additional time was needed to obtain approvals for managing this issue on site. It is due to be completed in the first quarter of 2019.
This section of work will include:
- Duplication of the road to provide two lanes in each direction.
- A new three metre wide shared path along the southern side (Kenny side) of Horse Park Drive.
- A new road bridge and shared path bridge over Sullivan’s Creek.
- Better access to the parking area for the Goorooyarroo Nature Park.
