The ACT Emergency Services Agency (ESA) would like to remind people to take extra precautions today with SEVERE fire danger and strong winds forecast. A Total Fire Ban is in place.

If a fire starts at the fire danger level of SEVERE it may be uncontrollable and move quickly. Flames may be higher than rooftops.

There is a high risk of falling trees and branches. Do not park cars near or under trees and take care when travelling on the road to avoid falling debris.

Monitor situation changes through the ACT ESA website www.esa.act.gov.au, the ESA Twitter and Facebook accounts, local ACT media outlets or by calling Access Canberra on 13 22 81.

For emergency damage assistance call the ACTSES on 132 500. For life-threatening emergencies call Emergency Triple Zero (000).
