Three to face court over property thefts in Gungahlin

A 33-year-old man, a 36-year-old woman and a 41-year-old man are expected to face court this morning (21 October) in relation to a series of property thefts in Gungahlin.

Police allege that yesterday afternoon, the group was spotted by members of the public stealing packages from the front of residences in Casey, Nicholls and Taylor.

At the time, the group was allegedly travelling in a grey Volkswagen Golf.

At about 3:30 pm, the trio was apprehended at the Bonner shops, during which time the 33-year-old man allegedly assaulted a police officer.

In addition to being charged with theft offences, he has also been charged with assaulting a frontline community service worker.

The 36-year-old woman will face five charges – joint commission theft, drug driving, use of an unregistered vehicle, use of an uninsured vehicle and driving while disqualified.

The 41-year-old man has been charged with one count of joint commission theft.
