ACT Policing apprehended a 47-year-old Harrison man for impaired driving after his vehicle collided with several objects in Franklin yesterday (Sunday November 16).

About 5:15pm, police attended Petherick Street, Franklin, following a report of a single vehicle collision. Police located a heavily damaged black Honda Jazz and a 300 metre trail of car parts and damage leading up to the vehicle. This included damage to a light pole, tyre marks along a nearby footpath and uprooted trees on the nature strip.

Police located the 47-year old male driver and he underwent roadside breath screening, which returned a positive result. The man was then conveyed to City Police Station and underwent a breath analysis which returned a Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) of 0.157.

During questioning, the male indicated that he had been returning home after dropping his daughter off before the collision. The man will be summonsed to face court at a later date in relation to drink driving.
