Witnesses sought to indecent act at Yerrabi Pond

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an indecent act which occurred at Yerrabi Pond on Thursday 1 June 2017.

About 5.30pm, a man approached a 17-year-old girl near the playground adjacent to the bike path at Yerrabi Pond, Wunderlich Street, Gungahlin. The man was riding a mountain bike which he dismounted and engaged the girl in conversation. The girl walked away from the man along the path adjacent to Mirrabei Drive.

About 6.00pm, the same man approached the girl near the roundabout intersection with Paul Coe Crescent and Mirrabei Drive and is alleged to have grabbed the girl and committed an act of indecency.

The man is described as being Caucasian in appearance with an olive complexion, aged in his 20s, about 168cm tall (5’6”), of a thin to medium build with long hair and a European accent. He was wearing a dark jumper/windcheater, dark jeans a black beanie and a red bicycle helmet. He was riding a dark coloured mountain bike.

Police wish to speak with anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the man in the area of Yerrabi Pond on Thursday evening.
