In October 2015 we first reported on an exciting new accommodation park being built in Gungahlin, First sod turned for new school group and tourist accommodation. Canberra Park is a new accommodation development providing an innovative accommodation solution for visiting schools and sporting group being built on the corner of Federal Highway and Old Well Station Road next to EPIC.
Canberra Park will provide a range of accommodation options and is being built in 3 stages with stage 1 due to open in April 2017. Stage 1 will provide student and sporting group accommodation, stage 2 will be a holiday park and stage 3 a 180 room motel.
Designed to specifically meet the needs of schools and groups travelling to Canberra, Stage 1 of Canberra Park will provide comfortable, secure accommodation in this purpose built complex, surrounded by grass playing fields. Visitors will be provided premium student and teacher accommodation with private bathrooms, a food / dining hall. Communal meeting areas will be provided for catch ups, movies or educational activities.
The facility will provide 408 student beds, each room sleeping four guests and includes an ensuite bathroom with separate shower and toilet facilities.
There will be 40 teacher/supervisor bedrooms located within the accommodation building with private bathrooms and specifically designed to view the entire hallway.
For support staff there are 12 crew/coach driver rooms located in a separate building each with full self-contained facilities.
The “Food Hub” seats 270 people and features three purpose built buffet areas to cater for large groups.
