Truck convoy in Canberra on Sunday and Monday

Roads ACT and the National Capital Authority wishes to advise motorists and other road users that the Australian Trucking Association convoy will be held in Canberra on Sunday 17 April and Monday 18 April 2016.

The convoy of a possible 200 trucks will travel from Yass, arriving in Canberra at approximately 9 am on Sunday along the Barton Highway. Trucks are expected to travel through the city and make their way to Exhibition Park in Canberra (EPIC) via:

  • Northbourne Avenue, (southbound)
  • Commonwealth Avenue, (southbound)
  • State Circle (full loop)
  • Commonwealth Avenue, (northbound)
  • Northbourne Avenue to EPIC for the proposed rally.

It is expected that four to five trucks will make a detour to the Australian Parliament House via Federation Mall and rejoin the convoy later.

Monday morning at 6.20 am, a convoy of a possible 20 to 40 trucks will travel from EPIC to park at Federation Mall on Capital Hill. The convoy will then disperse the area at approximately 8 am.

There are no road closures expected for the event, however, motorists and other road users may experience some delays during the two convoys.
