Police seek assistance to locate driver

ACT Policing is seeking the public’s assistance to locate a driver involved in a collision with a police vehicle in Palmerston on Wednesday 19 April.

About 9.30pm, police drove into the carpark at Palmerston shops where a vehicle reversed and collided with the marked police vehicle. The vehicle then accelerated away and fled the scene.

The vehicle is described as a white Mitsubishi Magna sedan, with a black rim on the front passenger side.

Police have released CCTV footage of a man who approaches the vehicle prior to the collision. Police wish to speak to this man who may be able to assist with their enquiries. He is described as Caucasian in appearance, of thin build and a fair complexion. He was wearing a blue hooded jumper, black shorts, grey socks and black ‘Nike’ sandals.

Police are urging anyone who may recognise the man or be able to identify the vehicle or driver to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Please quote reference number 6095732.
