Saturday 10th of November saw the opening of the Crace Recreation Park. Senator Kate Lundy attended and launched the proceedings. Whilst unfortunately The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall who were visiting Canberra at the time were unable to attend, the event was attended to by cricket royalty Dean Jones and Michael Bevan for a cricket match. Olympic stars Melissa Breen and Jared Tallent, Raider Sam Williams and local media support Dean and Michael fielding teams for the day.

The Lions Club of Gungahlin were there to support the event and cooked up a storm on the BBQ’s to feed the masses attending.

The day was a real success for the team from Crace and the park a first for Canberra looks fantastic and a great feature for Crace residents.
