Road users and pedestrians are advised that there will be temporary lane and intersection closures on Horse Park Drive between Mulligans Flat Road and the Amaroo playing fields next week as the final layer of road resurfacing is carried out.

Location and timing of works

Work will take place in both directions on Horse Park Drive between Mulligans Flat Road and the Amaroo playing fields from Monday 8 April 2019 (weather permitting) for approximately one week between the hours of 7 am and 5 pm. Intersection closures and associated detours will not be put in place till 9.30 am, following morning peak. One lane will remain open in both directions at all times. In the event of unexpected delays, including inclement weather, work may continue the following week. Road users should take note of roadside signage which will advise them of the updated dates.

Access to and from Horse Park Drive at the intersections with Mulligans Flat Road, Mornington Street and Roden Cutler Drive/Katherine Avenue will be temporarily closed whilst road resurfacing occurs. Detours will be in place.

Effects on traffic

  • Delays are expected.
  • Barriers as well as warning and detour signs will be erected to alert people to the works and temporary closures.
  • Traffic controllers will be on site to guide motorists and pedestrians through the area.
  • Drivers are asked to be mindful of the changed traffic arrangements and adhere to the work zone speed limits of 40 km/h.

Work is also continuing on Horse Park Drive in the section between the Federal Highway and Well Station Drive. The project team is completing median works and the off-road shared path. This work is expected to be completed in May with four lanes to be opened up to traffic following this work. Landscaping works will continue for the coming months and there will be off-peak lane closures to ensure the safety of workers.
