ACT Emergency Services Commissioner Georgeina Whelan has declared a Total Fire Ban for the whole of the ACT under section 114 of the Emergencies Act 2004 for the duration of Sunday 5 January 2020.
A State of Alert has been declared for the entire ACT. The State of Alert is about preparedness. There are currently no grass or bushfires in the ACT.
A State of Emergency has been declared for the entire state of NSW.
The Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting a lower temperature of 27 degrees. Heavy smoke will remain in the ACT.
The forecast Fire Danger Rating (FDR) is predicted to reach HIGH tomorrow.
Residents in Bushfire Prone Areas are urged to review their Bushfire Survival Plan or if you don’t have a plan in place, to take the time to create one.
