GroupOne Spooktacular hosted by Dainere's Rainbow Brain Tumour Research Fund

On a cold and drizzly Canberran evening ghouls, goblins, ghosts, zombies and more arrived at The Abbey in Gold Creek for the GroupOne Spooktacular hosted by Dainere’s Rainbow Brain Tumour Research Fund.

The purpose of this Gala Dinner was to “Scare Brain Cancer Away” and raise funds to go to paediatric brain tumour research at the Sydney Children’s Hospital.

The Dainere’s Rainbow team are honoured, humbled and delighted to announce that a phenomenal total of $40,009 was raised from the gala dinner with 100% of that money going directly to research.

Our extraordinary Guests; it is you who reached out, you showed the true light of human kindness, you ignited the gift of hope and you well and truly showed that we can ‘Scare Brain Cancer Away’.

Dainere’s family said “Dainere, we love you beyond words and miss you beyond measure, your inspiration, your courage, your selflessness, your determination, your tireless work, your legacy, your advocacy and your greatest wish in life to see no children suffer as you did and a cure become a reality are why we do absolutely everything we humanly can to take action, give hope and create change.”

We are so proud that 100%, yes as Dainere’s Rainbow is run entirely by volunteers and no expenses are taken out then all of the funds raised all go directly to Australian research by the dedicated, passionate and exceptional Associate Professor Ziegler who has a laboratory research program that is one of the largest in Australia devoted to the investigation of childhood brain cancer.
