Taqwa School opened in 2015 in it’s current location in Spence offering families a learning environment for their children within an Islamic context. Taqwa School gives these children the knowledge, skills and dispositions to achieve their potential and contribute positively to the Muslim community, Australian society and humanity at large.
The school is named after the word taqwa, which means being conscious of God. Taqwa combines having an internal moral compass with awareness of accountability for one’s actions, thus being the best towards humanity and the rest of creation. The School’s values of excellence, respect, responsibility, multiculturalism and fairness echo the concept of taqwa and frame all the learning at Taqwa School.
Taqwa School is to move to Moncrief, Block 1 of Section 33 from it’s current location in Spence. The school is currently registered for kindergarten to year 3 and provisionally registered for year 4. The school is now seeking registration of the school for years 5 and 6.
The school currently has an application before the Education Directorate to extend their registration to years 5 and 6 in accordance with the Education Act 2004 the Directorate is seeking comment from people who are interested in this application.
