Road resealing on Curran Drive

Road resealing work on Curran Drive in Nicholls is starting this Monday 16 January 2017 to extend the life of the road pavement. The work will involve resealing the existing road surface and replacing the line markings. This will require temporary road closures to be put in place.

Location of closures

These works will be conducted on both east and west bound lanes of Curran Drive from the Barton Highway to the eastern intersection McClelland Avenue.

The closure will be in place in five separate sections of Curran Drive as follows:

  • Barton Highway to O’Hanlon Place
  • O’Hanlon Place to McClelland Avenue (west)
  • McClelland Avenue (west) to the Gold Creek Country Club entry/exit
  • Gold Creek Country Club entry/exit to Temperley Street
  • Temperley Street to McClelland Avenue (east)

Closures will only be in place for one of these sections at any given time.

Timing of closures Works will be conducted in two stages, both starting from the Barton Highway to the eastern intersection McClelland Avenue

  • The first stage will start on Monday 16 January and run to Friday 20 January 2017
  • The second stage will start in early February 2017
  • Closures will be only be in place between 9.30 am and 4 pm during works.

Effects on traffic

  • These closures occur in off peak times to minimise the effects on traffic, but delays are expected
  • Motorists are advised to take an alternative route to avoid delays
  • Detours will be in place during the works
  • Line markings will be reinstated after the second stage has been completed
  • Variable message boards will be in place to advise motorists.
