Road works will continue at the Federal Highway and Horse Park Drive/Majura Parkway interchange next week and lane closures will be in place. Motorists should expect some short delays during these works.

Horse Park Drive westbound at the Federal Highway overpass will be reduced to one lane with the northern lane closed daily between 6 am and 4 pm from Tuesday 1 to Thursday 3 November 2016 (inclusive, weather permitting).

The southern lane of Horse Park Drive westbound at the Federal Highway overpass will be closed on weekdays between 6 am and 4 pm from Friday 4 to Tuesday 8 November 2016 (inclusive, weather permitting). The northern lane will be open at this time and traffic will be reduced to one lane.

The closures are to allow for devices to be installed which are used to monitor heavy vehicle usage. We collect this information to monitor if vehicles are staying within the load limits and to inform future maintenance programs.

These works will follow the installation of the devices on the Federal Highway southbound ramps which is expected to be completed on Monday 31 October 2016.

Barriers and warning signs will be erected to alert motorists to the closures.

A reduced speed limit of 40 km/h will be in place during the work and for the week following the works to help protect the device installed.

Following installation of the devices at these sites works will continue on:

  • Horse Park Drive eastbound at the Federal Highway overpass
  • the Federal Highway northbound on ramp from Horse Park Drive
  • the Federal Highway northbound departing the interchange
  • the Federal Highway southbound approaching the interchange.
