The duplication of Horse Park Drive is progressing well with construction works on the section of road between Anthony Rolfe Avenue and Gundaroo Drive nearing completion.

The new section of road on this stretch of Horse Park Drive has been constructed and there will be a staged traffic switch from the existing lanes to this new section from tomorrow.

Tomorrow’s traffic switch will involve closure of the eastbound lane on the current southern stretch of road, with traffic to be moved on to the outer lane of the new northern road. Traffic will remain in a single lane in each direction.

This arrangement will be in place for approximately 2 months.

From mid-October 2017 (weather permitting) traffic will be moved from the outer lanes on both the northern and southern roads to the median lanes to allow the pavement and upgrade works to be completed along the verges. This arrangement is expected to be in place until late October 2017.

Roadside signage will alert road users to the changed traffic arrangements. A speed limit of 40km/h will be in place during construction working hours (7am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday), returning to 60km/h outside these periods.

A simplified diagram of the arrangements is included above.
