Following the recent vandalism at the Gungahlin Jets’ home ground which saw extensive damage of facilities including playing fields and canteen, the community sports club is now faced with the cost of repairs while deprived of the crucial revenue raised from the canteen.

Having recognised the heartbreak of the Jets club and community, Ainslie Group President Wayne Rogers presented a $5,000 donation on Wednesday 21st June to the Gungahlin Jets Junior Football Club on behalf of Gungahlin Lakes Golf & Community Club. The donation will see essential funds immediately available to the Jets while they get back on their feet during this time of need.

Known as ‘The Lakes’ to locals, the golf club is a part of the Ainslie Group. The Ainslie Group and its community clubs are committed to supporting the Canberra community as a whole contributing over one million dollars ($1,000,000) annually to local community sporting groups and charities.

Ainslie Group CEO Simon Patterson commends the efforts of the Gungahlin community in support of the Jets. “It is great to see the response of locals supporting the club following the destruction caused by the mindless actions of others. To hear of the effect this has had on the Jets’ community both emotionally and financially is very upsetting and we are happy to be able to assist.”

Ainslie Group President Wayne Rogers and CEO Simon Patterson presents $5,000 cheque to Gungahlin Jets President, Steve Wall, and Vice President, Terry Evans.
