Organisations with an idea for a new physical activity project for the local Indigenous community can now apply for up to $30,000 as part of the 2016-17 Indigenous Sports Partnered Programs (ISPP) grants program.
The ISPP is being offered for the second time this year and any organisation with an idea for a new project or to extend an existing project is encouraged to apply.
The ACT Government is committed to ensuring that healthy lifestyle choices, including physical activity opportunities, are accessible to all Canberrans.
By providing funding to organisations to help them deliver physical activity projects, we are supporting positive health, social and wellbeing outcomes in the community.
Through the ISPP we want to see the delivery of projects that encourage a structured, frequent level of participation so that more Canberrans are able to enjoy physical activity more often.
The ISPP is funded through the Commonwealth’s Indigenous Advancement Strategy (IAS) and administered by Active Canberra in the ACT Government.
For more information on the ISPP initiative, including how to submit an application, visit the Active Canberra website at www.sport.act.gov.au/grants/indigenous-sports-partnered-programs.
The ISPP is being offered in addition to the 2016-17 Indigenous Sports Grants Program (ISGP) which opened on 15 August 2016.
The ISGP offers $200 to eligible individuals for their participation in a sport or active recreation activity. For more information on the ISGP visit www.sport.act.gov.au/grants/indigenous-sports-grants-program.
