Police seek witnesses to shooting in Bonner

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to the shooting of a man in Bonner yesterday (27 June).

At about 5:45 pm last night, police received a request to attend a residence in Roy Marika Street in Bonner following a report of a man suffering a minor wound caused by a firearm.

Police believe the incident began with at least two offenders attempting to gain entry to the residence.

After a short struggle, one of the offenders fired a single shot, which struck the occupant in the leg. The offenders then fled the location.

The man suffered a minor wound and was transported to The Canberra Hospital for precautionary checks.

Police believe nearby residents and people walking in the street before the incident may have information that can assist the investigation.
