Peter Blackshaw Gungahlin has celebrated a significant milestone with their 10 year anniversary. Principals Michael and Rebecca Braddon opened the business in 2004 and have forged a reputation for dedicated customer service and quality cost effective marketing throughout the region.
Peter Blackshaw Gungahlin marked their 10th birthday with a cake cutting ceremony. Michael and Rebecca thanked their staff for their dedication, hard work and loyalty over the past decade. Rebecca says, “We are very proud to be part of the Peter Blackshaw family and can’t believe how fast the first 10 years has gone. We look forward to the future growth of Gungahlin and what’s to come in the years ahead.”
The team has doubled since 2004 with the sales team still based at their original office location in the heart of town. Gungahlin’s population has grown from 30,000 residents in 2004 to over 47,000 in 2014, with the team seeing many changes in Gungahlin Town Centre, as well as rapid growth in its new suburbs.
The property management department has outgrown the town centre office and are now based at another location nearby on Anthony Rolfe Avenue. The team led by Rebecca Braddon pride themselves on the ability to meet and exceed client’s individual needs and expectations.
A highlight of the past year was Michael being awarded the Franchise Owner of the Year award at Peter Blackshaw Real Estate’s 2013 Awards Night. He was recognised for his outstanding support for the brand, staff development, commitment to community support and his proven leadership ability.
The team at Peter Blackshaw Gungahlin look forward to servicing the real estate needs of current and future residents of the region in the next 10 years and thank all their past and present clients for their support and loyalty.
Celebrating this milestone with Michael I took the time to ask him some questions so we can get to know him a little better.
Firstly I quizzed him on why he got into Real Estate Career. “I used to be a finance broker and was always interested in property having bought & sold a few times, so it was a natural progression to take on he challenge over 15 years ago.”
“What do you enjoy most being in Real Estate?” “The satisfaction of helping people achieve their goals and aspirations with the most expensive asset they will ever buy or sell in their lifetime.”
“Do you have a funny story you can share from your time being in real estate, like when I may have given you the wrong keys for our open inspection…” “My first open home I ever did was in Turner, the first car pulled up and I was very excited and nervous, but when they got out they tried to steal my car! Let’s just say I didn’t offer them a brochure…”
“What do you think has been the most exciting development you have seen in Gungahlin?” “Seeing the expansion of the Gungahlin Marketplace and Town Centre. When I bought my first home in Ngunnawal in 1996 all that was there was Woolworths and a couple of boutique shops, and lots of dirt carparks!”
“Where is your favourite place in Gungahlin for a drink, coffee or bite to eat?” “The George Harcourt Inn at Gold Creek never disappoints. It is a great place to go all year round for all occasions.”
“What’s the best piece of advice you have ever been given?” “Learn from your mistakes, none of us are perfect. Use your experiences whether good or bad to make the most a fulfilling life with family and friends.”
“What’s the best piece of advice you have ever been given?” “NRL!! I have enjoyed watching the Raiders for 30 years. My dad used to take me to the footy all the time and now I take my son Cooper as well as coach his footy team. We also go for the NSW Blues. I hope they win a series before I am a grandfather!”
