An entertainer’s paradise at 11 Hendry Close in Nicholls has smashed the suburb record, as well as the Gungahlin record, when it sold for $2,475,000 over the weekend.
The sale price surpassed the previous Gungahlin record by $325,000, and the previous record for Nicholls (also set by agent Luke McAuliffe) by over $450,000.
Peter Blackshaw sales agent Luke McAuliffe said the record-breaking sale in Nicholls attracted nearly 150 groups inspecting the home, and eight registered bidders for the auction.
When the open home was held, Mr McAuliffe said people were impressed by the superb views from the rear deck of the home, but also surprised there was an indoor pool.

“We went to auction, and four or five bidders participated, and when it reached the $2.3 million mark it came down to two bidders. It was called on the market at $2,350,000, and the highest bid reached the record price of $2,475,000,” said Mr McAuliffe.
“Everyone was surprised the pool was there. The big attraction was the bifold glass doors which made the pool a real indoor-outdoor facility, and another big drawcard was the basketball court.
“The new owners also love their back deck with a view to the Brindabellas, which is absolutely spectacular.”
“Thom Eriksson took the auction and it was a fantastic call by him as always.
“It’s a fantastic result for Gungahlin and for Nicholls, it shows there are homes like this in the area that really raise the expectations of the quality of homes available in Gungahlin. The owners were over the moon with the result,” said Mr McAuliffe.
