About James Day

James Day is an early-career cadet journalist for Region Media, with a focus on regional issues and the public sector. Prior to joining the Canberra office in 2022 he was the Editor-in-Chief of the ANU Observer, and a host of 2XXFM's LocalnLive show.

Raised in Sydney, he moved to Canberra in 2018 to pursue his studies at the Australian National University focused on political science and international relations.

He enjoys the eclectic variety of music that the Capital's live music scene has to offer, wishes he had the mathematical drive to complete his physics degree, and is constantly trying to impress his mother by speaking in her first language of Greek.
