Two men – a 49-year-old and his 20-year-old son – will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning over an alleged nail gun attack in Taylor.
Police will allege that about 11:00 pm on Saturday (21 November), the two men armed themselves with nail guns and left their residence on McCredie Street to confront a group of people who were having a party at another residence in the street.
The pair is believed to have fired several nails at the group and the other residence before the 49-year-old man allegedly shot a 40-year-old man in the head with a nail from close range.
The victim and the two alleged offenders then had a brief struggle before the victim and his group retreated inside their residence, at which time the alleged offenders also returned to their residence.
Police attended a short time later and found the 40-year-old man with an injury to his forehead, as well as a large number of nails from a nail gun around the front of the residence and in the street.
The alleged offenders were arrested at their residence, and are expected to face court today.
The 49-year-old man has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, act endangering life, and possessing an offensive weapon.
The 20-year-old man has been charged with possessing an offensive weapon and affray.
