A 42-year-old Harrison man has been charged with high-range drink-driving for the sixth time, after he was pulled over by officers early Sunday morning (25 March 2018).
Around 12.05am officers from Gungahlin Police Station stopped a car for suspected speeding offences and requested the driver produce his license.
The driver refused to comply with the request. He was arrested and subjected to a roadside breath test which returned a positive result. The man was then conveyed to Gungahlin Police Station where he underwent further analysis, returning a result of 0.255, which is more than five times the legal limit for a full license holder.
Further enquiries revealed this was the sixth time this man had been caught for high-range drink-driving. Enquiries also revealed that he held a probationary driver’s license, with an interlock condition, requiring a 0.00 alcohol limit.
The man’s license was suspended for 90 days, effective immediately. He will be summonsed to appear before the ACT Magistrates Court at a later date charged with high-range drink-driving and not complying with his license conditions.
