On Saturday night Casey Market Town was awarded the top award for the Commercial Architecture category at the 2017 ACT Architecture Awards.
Designed by Cox Architecture, Chris Millman, Director at Cox Architecture said “Recognition with an AIA Award is most gratifying for all involved. It’s been a mammoth effort by client, consultants and builders alike to deliver Casey Market Town. Our simple vision was focused on a exemplar customer-centric retail experience to create the preeminent Group Centre in the Territory…I think we’ve done that.”
Brianna Nix, Senior Property Manager for KG Capitol who is the property manager for Casey Market Town told us “We are very proud that Casey Market Town won this award, we achieved our goal to create an easily accessible centre that provides convenient everyday shopping for the Gungahlin community as well as being destinational with some of our retail that’s unique to us like the new Supabarn Supermarket concept where people travel from the southside of Canberra. Cox Architecture captured what we set out to achieve with easy access and plenty of unique features like our high timber ceilings and wide corridors that have created great access and a warm welcoming feeling unlike any other in Canberra. We are all very pleased with the result and even more pleasing is that customers have been impressed with the result, never have I worked with a centre where the feedback from visitors is so positive”
