ACT Policing seized a firearm during a search warrant yesterday (Friday 27 March), following investigations into recent Southside shooting incidents.

About 3pm, police executed a section 194 Crimes Act 1900 search warrant on a residence in Crace, locating and seizing a shortened pump action shotgun. During the warrant police also seized ammunition and a small amount of cannabis.

The search was a result of investigations by ACT Policing’s Criminal Investigations team into two shooting incidents last month in Canberra’s south.

Investigations are ongoing.

ACT Policing urges anyone with information regarding illegal firearms to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
