Last night on the 8th December just before 11pm emergency services received a report of a grass fire at Gungahlin Drive and Gundaroo drive.
ACT Fire and Rescue and volunteers from Gungahlin Rural Fire Brigade attended to extinguish the grass fire. No buildings were under threat during the fire.
At 11:30pm it was reported that the fire had been extinguished after burning an area approximately 100 metres x 100 metres.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
The Gungahlin Rural Fire Brigade responded very quickly. Some members may have been tucked into bed when their pager went off. The following is a post from their Facebook page.
