All primary school-aged children around Australia are invited to participate in National Walk Safely to School Day held on Friday 23 May.
Now in its 15th year, the annual, national event encourages every child to walk and commute safely to school to promote living a healthy, active lifestyle.
By walking at the beginning and end of each day, children can achieve at least 60 minutes of daily exercise to help prevent obesity and other health problems.
You can download the Walk Safely to School Day app that allows children, parents and carers to track kilometres walked to and from school, time spent walking, and average walking speed.
As well as promoting regular exercise, Walk Safely to School Day encourages children to eat a healthy breakfast every day.
