ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an aggravated robbery which occurred at the Gungahlin Skate Park on Wednesday afternoon (10 December).
Around 4:10pm a 13-year-old male teenager was playing at the skate park when approached by an older teenager, believed to be aged between 15 and 17. The older teenager made a demand for money before brandishing a knife towards the victim.
The victim provided the older teenager with an amount of money before fleeing the area seeking help.
The knife-wielding teenager can be described as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander in appearance, dark coloured hair with a long fringe; around 175cm in height (5’9”) with a solid build. At the time of the offence, he was wearing a blue raincoat and a white ‘bum bag’ across his chest.
A second teenager who fled with the main offender can be described as Caucasian, short blond hair with a long fringe, around 165cm in height (5’5”) with a slim build. He was wearing tie-dyed shorts at the time of the offence.
Police conducted an extensive search of the area, but were unable to locate the offenders. While searching, police received information that the two offenders may have left the area in a silver-coloured vehicle.
