18 years ago on the 9th August 1998 the then Chief Minister opened stage one of Marketplace Gungahlin. At this time Marketplace Gungahlin was a lone building among the paddocks of the Gungahlin “Town Centre”.
Fast forward to 31st October 2005 the Chief Minister of the day Jon Stanhope opened stage two of Marketplace Gungahlin. This development introduced Big W, more specialty stores and car parks to the town centre.
In 3 weeks after tons and tons of dirt has been moved the excavators, trucks and construction workers will make way for the shoppers to enjoy stage 3 of Marketplace Gungahlin.
On the 24th November a range of new retailers join Kmart in opening their doors. Among these new retailers there are already some new retailers already trading in Marketplace Gungahlin.

You may have noticed that Marketplace Logo have also given their logo a refresh. As recognition of Gungahlin meaning “little rocky hill”, they have incorporated this meaning into their new logo in the form of three stones.
