Traffic conditions will change on Horse Park Drive between Anthony Rolfe Avenue and Well Station Drive from tomorrow (Saturday) as vehicles are diverted onto the new carriageway to allow this stage of the duplication to be completed.
These temporary arrangements will be in place while the existing road receives upgrades, streetlights and new signage.
The changes include a new temporary layout of turning lanes at the Mapleton Avenue and Well Station Drive intersections.
A reduced speed limit will remain in place and roadside signage will alert road users to the changed conditions.
Motorists should take additional care and follow the signage to ensure they are in the correct lanes.
As well as two lanes in each direction, the upgrades to Horse Park Drive will include:
- Intersection improvements at Anthony Rolfe Avenue, Mapleton Avenue, Well Station Drive, Mirrabei Drive and Gaston Way.
- A shared path for cyclists and pedestrians.
- A new bridge with underpass for pedestrians at Gungaderra Creek.
- Indented bus stops next to the northbound and southbound carriageways.
Work will start in coming months to duplicate Horse Park Drive from Anthony Rolfe Avenue to Mulligans Flat Road. Duplication from Well Station Drive to the Federal Highway will begin later this year.
