ACT Policing patrols in the Gungahlin area have resulted in the arrest of a 24 year old woman.

Around midday on Monday (14 April), police observed a vehicle with homemade ‘registration plates’, made of cardboard with handwritten figures. Upon checking, police discovered that the driver did not hold a current Australian driver’s licence, and had previously had her licence disqualified 28 times for traffic offences committed between January 2008 and November 2010.

The woman was placed under arrest and charged with a string of traffic related offences – including nine instances of making off without payment (petrol theft), nine instances of number plate or registration not properly issued or issued to another vehicle, driving while right to drive suspended and driving as an unlicensed driver.

The woman will face court at a later date.
