Several young Canberrans have been awarded for their creative short films that raise awareness on issues affecting them and the local community.
Over 80 high school students across the ACT attended the Youth Tube Screening at Dendy Cinema on 28 June.
Nineteen films were screened and awards have been given to the best films in each category for their creativity, originality and message delivery.
Two films made by students from Gold Greek School were recognised for their films. Drugs and Alcohol Abuse’ by Jasmin, Michael and Jas (Gold Creek School). This film highlights the effects of drugs and alcohol through scenarios that young people face in their daily life. The People’s Choice Award was been given to ‘Refuse to Lose’ by Milni, Zara, Dylan, Phillip and Jakayah (Gold Creek School), for addressing youth mental health in black and white cinematography film. Congratulations to these budding film makers.
