Enjoy the food and entertainment at the National Multicultural Festival this weekend and take advantage of free ACTION bus services all day Saturday, Minister for Territory and Municipal Services, Shane Rattenbury, said today.
In celebration of what is one of Canberra’s biggest culturally diverse events, all ACTION services on Saturday will be free,” Mr Rattenbury said.
Additional services will also run from the town centres to the City as required to supplement the Saturday timetable.
“If you haven’t caught an ACTION bus before, now is your opportunity to try it out for free. Bring your family and friends for a fun day out and then catch a free bus home safely and conveniently.
“The Festival’s hub, in the City Centre will be alight with music, dancing, cultural activities and delicious food from all corners of the world and parking will be at a premium.
“ACTION’s free bus services are the most convenient way to get to and from the festival on the Saturday.
“Festival goers can also take advantage of the many park and ride facilities across Canberra, allowing you to combine a car trip with bus travel, saving time and money on parking.
“ACTION’s Blue Rapid (900 route) travels near most park and ride facilities with others serviced by local bus routes. The final services for the Saturday 900 route depart from the City Bus Station around 11 pm,” Mr Rattenbury said.
There are 15 park and ride centres in Canberra with facilities available in Belconnen, Woden, Tuggeranong and Mitchell. A range of routes service these locations throughout the week and on weekends. For more information go to http://www.action.act.gov.au/.
