Katy Gallagher presented Jets Chairman, Joe Cortese with a cheque for $40,000 to be used towards finishing off the Hangar.
In accepting the cheque, Joe paid special thanks to the ACT Government for their overwhelming generosity and ongoing support and how the ACT Government acknowledged of the important role that clubs such as The Jets play in the local community.
Joe also acknowledged the generosity of the many club sponsors and also the Gungahlin community who have dug deep into their own pockets and donated to the “Finish the Hanger” fund. A number of local companies and individuals have also made in-kind donations to ensure that The Jets have a place to call home.
Joe presented Katy with a Pink Jets Jumper from their annual Pink Footy Day as a token of the club’s appreciation. This money will be used to finish the internal fitout of the Hangar (insulation, carpet etc) and will also allow for a 3m extension.
