World record attempt at Sids & Kids ACT Christmas Lights in the City

Illuminating our city with Christmas lights

With the generous support from Canberra CBD Limited, Sids & Kids ACT Christmas Lights in the City will be a spectacular site illuminating the city centre with millions of lights. This charitable event will create a magical backdrop for the city and spread the Christmas spirit.

Let’s break the world record

This year, there will be an attempt to break the Guinness World Record™ for the largest LED image display in the world. Chief Minister Katy Gallagher will turn on the lights at 8.30pm on Friday, 28 November.

Lighting up our merry-go-round

One of the highly anticipated features of this year’s event is the iconic merry-go-round, which will be a breathtaking sight decorated in 200,000 lights.

Dates and times

Lights will be on display from London Circuit through to Bunda Street, from 28 November 2014 to 31 December 2014

Daily: 7pm till late (check website for exact times)

Event activities

Activities will include a ‘Flip Out’ in the City, Asian Cup dome, kids cubby and music hub, markets and roving music and entertainment. Other activities including FREE camel rides will start later in December.
