Primary school children across the ACT are invited to participate in National Walk Safely to School Day Friday 22 May.

This community initiative encourages every child to walk and commute safely to school to promote a healthy and active lifestyle. Walk Safely to School Day promotes health, road safety, transport and environmental benefits that regular walking (especially to and from school) can provide for long-term health. By walking at the beginning and end of each day, children can achieve at least 60 minutes of daily exercise to help prevent obesity and other health problems.
