Canberrans are encouraged take advantage of free buses to the Raiders V Panthers semi final at GIO Stadium this Saturday night to avoid the hassles of traffic and parking at the ground.
With huge crowds expected through the gates again this Saturday the bus is a convenient option to get you to and from the game,” said Ian McGlinn, Director, Public Transport Operations.
We have listened to feedback from last week’s game and will have measures in place to improve services for our passengers.
“From 5pm onwards, free ACTION buses will be departing regularly from major bus stations in Tuggeranong, Belconnen, Woden, Gungahlin and the City, and will commence return travel to these stations about 20 minutes after the game.
“Your game ticket will also get you free travel on all ACTION buses all day, and the Blue Rapid 900 services are another great option to travel to and from the game. These services will drop patrons off along Haydon Drive, within easy walking distance of the stadium.
“To get you to and from the game as smoothly as we can, we have more buses than last week’s game as well as additional staff to assist with the loading of buses and provision of customer updates immediately following the game.
“If you are at the game on the night you can receive updates in regards to return travel via the Transport Canberra Twitter account. You can follow us @Transport_CBR,” Mr McGlinn said.
Gates open at 4:45pm with the main game commencing at 7:45pm. Free return services will commence approximately 20 minutes after the game.
