Out-of-hours works will continue after Saturday 30 March until 9 April to finalise adjustments to the light rail concrete track slab near the intersection of Nullarbor Avenue and Flemington Road. The hours of work will be 8:00pm to 6:00am. This work will involve workers removing and replacing sections of concrete each night during this period.
These works are required to take place at night to allow all work to be completed during a seven-day pause of light rail testing in Gungahlin. This work is expected to be noisy at times and Canberra Metro Construction appreciates your patience and understanding as we carry out these vital works.
Traffic Management:
The intersection of Nullarbor Avenue and Flemington Avenue will be closed during the works. Traffic changes include:
• No right-turn onto Flemington Road from Nullarbor Avenue
• No right-turn onto Nullarbor Avenue from Flemington Road
• No through access across Flemington Road
• Detour via Mapleton Avenue (northbound) and Well Station Drive (southbound)
The equipment to be used includes: excavators, trucks, light towers, jack hammers, high pressure water jet cutting plant and hand tools.
The project team will ensure the number of machines operating at the same time is limited and equipment turned off when not in use. Non-tonal reversing beepers will be used* and workers will be instructed to keep noise to a minimum.
