More than 35 000 people are reported missing every year in Australia – one person every 15 minutes. Fortunately, in the majority of cases those missing are quickly reunited with their families, but this isn’t always the case.
ACT Policing is actively investigating eight cases of people missing from the ACT, one of which is a member of the Gungahlin community. With community support, we hope to locate and reunite Jean Policarpio with his loved ones.
Circumstances
Jean Vincent Diezmo Policarpio, also known as Vince, was last seen at approximately 9.30pm on Tuesday 26 September 2017 by his family, in Bonner, ACT.
He was known to attend the Golden Moth walking Trail in Mulligan’s Flat and the Chicken Gourmet Shop at Bonner Shops.
Jean didn’t drive and left his phone, wallet and house keys at home the day he went missing. Is it unknown what Jean was wearing at the time of his disappearance, which direction he went or his method of travel.
No one has heard from or seen Jean since the last day he was sighted. An extensive search in nearby bush areas and local lakes and ponds was conducted however have not yielded any favourable results. Police and Jean’s family hold grave concerns for his safety and welfare.
Jean is described as Asian (Filipino) in appearance, 165cm in height, of slight build, olive skin, brown eyes and black hair.
