As part of our fund raising activity for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Jump For A Cure skydiving challenge, Telstra Countrywide Manager Chris Taylor donated a signed 2012 Raiders Jersey to the cause.
Each person that donated to the fundraising activity went into the draw to win the signed jersey. On the day I took the skydive activity we headed over to the Telstra shop in Gungahlin where Chris drew the lucky winner. Sue was drawn out of the ‘hat’ and was notified of her win to which she was quite surprised.
On being notified of the win Sue responded “I would like to thank Mark Scarborough of My Gungahlin for fund raising for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. To me only crazy people would attempt a feat like jumping out of a plane as I hate heights. I was surprised being informed of my win, as I had not noticed the competition information included in the fund raiser and did not expect there to be an incentive to donate. As such, I would like to give the jersey to the JDRF so they may use it to raise additional funds for the great work they do trying to find a cure for this disease.”
Telstra shop Gungahlin Business Manager Steve presented Sue’s daughter Sharon the jersey at the Gungahlin shop in Sue’s absence.
We would like to acknowledge Sue’s generosity in not only donating originally to our fundraising but also donating the jersey so JDRF can raise more money for their research.
We would also like to thank Chris Taylor for donating the jersey to help in our fundraising.
