ACT Policing’s Men in Uniform stalls, involving the Australian Defence Force and ACT Emergency Services Agency gathered together on Saturday, 21 November to raise awareness to put a stop to family violence. Through the sales of merchandise we raised more than $34,400 within the four hours across the 11 stalls in Canberra.
Acting Superintendent Jo Cameron of the Community Safety and Family Violence portfolio congratulated the Canberra Centre for raising the most money on the day ($8,662). Gungahlin Marketplace was the runner-up and swore the most oaths at 110.
“We also received a total of 517 oaths across the stalls – affirmations from the public to stand up, speak out and act to prevent men’s violence against women.”
Acting Superintendent Cameron praised the community’s generosity and the dedication of all forces in attendance.
“The show of support by the community, our police officers, and those of the Australian Defence Force and Emergency Services Agency who attended was outstanding. I thank them for their commitment.”

ACT Policing’s Men in Uniform campaign including the Men in Uniform stalls and internal fundraising efforts, raised more than $35,700 for White Ribbon Australia.
