Leave the car at home and let Transport Canberra take you to Raiders and Brumbies home games for free this footy season.
“Free public transport will again be running to and from all Raiders and Brumbies home games from Gungahlin, Belconnen, City, Woden and Tuggeranong Bus Stations dropping you outside the eastern gates of GIO Stadium,” Director, Public Transport Operations, Ian McGlinn said.
“We are encouraging Canberrans to take public transport where possible, with services departing bus stations regularly, getting you there in plenty of time for kick off. Public transport is a great way to travel to events like the football, as it saves you the hassle of parking and traffic.
“Return services depart GIO Stadium approximately 20 minutes after each game.
“For those looking for more active travel, Park and Ride locations are situated at each major bus station. Permits are required at some locations so check before you travel.
“Transport Canberra’s Blue Rapid is also a great option to get you to and from the games. Just get off on Haydon Drive and walk up to the gates. Regular fares apply.”
Bus departure information will be available on the Transport Canberra website each week prior to the game at www.transport.act.gov.au
