The Gungahlin Eagles Junior Rugby Club today announced that the Belconnen Soccer Club will be its major sponsor for the next two years, covering the 2014-15 playing seasons.
Junior Eagles President, Darren Smith, said the exciting new partnership is great news for the club.
As a community sporting organisation focused on providing young children in Gungahlin and north Canberra with opportunities for fun inclusive participation, skill development, and encouragement to play and compete in the local junior rugby competition, it is great to join forces with an organisation which also highly values connecting with the local community,” said Mr Smith.
“This year we attracted a significant number of new junior players to our ranks and with this additional support from Belconnen Soccer Club we hope to continue that growth and create great rugby experiences for even more boys and girls.”
CEO of Belconnen Soccer Club Mr Geoff Long said he was pleased to formalise the ongoing relationship with the Junior Eagles.
“It gives us great pleasure at Belconnen Soccer Club to continue our partnership and support as a major sponsor with the Gungahlin Eagles Junior Rugby Club. Both clubs focus on the development of supporting sporting participation in our local area and together we give young children that opportunity to be involved in a healthy team building environment,” said Mr Long.

The Junior Eagles are also busy working hard to attract new children to the sport for 2014 and will join up with the new Budding Brumbies program during November. The four week introduction to rugby program is available to children from four to nine years of age and will be held over four Fridays at Nicholls Synthetic Oval from 1 November.
