This morning at 4:49am a Triple Zero (000) call was made to alert emergency services to a house fire in Numbat Place, Nicholls.
The four occupants of the house evacuated themselves from the house. One was transported to hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.
ACT Fire & Rescue and ACT Service arrived on the scene to discover the home well alight and the roof on fire which later collapsed.
Three pumpers, a Breathing Apparatus Van and two Commanders were on scene to assist.
By 6:18am the fire was extinguished with fire fighters staying on the scene to conduct mopping up operations and monitor the building for hotspots.
The cause of the fire is unknown and will be investigated today. The estimated damage is $450,000.
