There will be a number of temporary road closures in Gungahlin Town Centre in the coming weeks to complete works associated with the signalisation of the Kate Crace Street and The Valley Avenue intersection, light rail and the extension of Ernest Cavanagh Street.

Signalisation of Kate Crace Street and The Valley Avenue intersection

The new signalised intersection of Kate Crace Street and The Valley Avenue opened to traffic in December 2018. These works will deliver the final line marking.

Location and timing of temporary road closures

The following temporary road closures will be in place from Monday 14 to Thursday 17 January 2019 daily from 9.30 am to 4 pm:

  • Kate Crace Street will be closed in both directions from Camilleri Way to Flemington Road
  • The Valley Avenue will be closed in both directions from Hinder Street to Manning Clark Crescent
  • Efkarpidis Street will be closed in both directions from Kate Crace Street to approximately 45 metres west towards Hinder Street.

There will be no access for road users or pedestrians. In the event of unexpected delays including inclement weather, these daily closures may be required on subsequent days. Roadside signage will be in place to alert road users.

Detours

During the closures, road users travelling along Anthony Rolfe Avenue and The Valley Avenue will be detoured via Hinder Street and Manning Clark Crescent.

Light Rail

Extension of Ernest Cavanagh Street
