A well known black spot in Gungahlin Town Centre has again today been the scene of yet another serious car accident. A about 4:41pm emergency services were alerted to the accident to which ACT Fire & Rescue and ACT Ambulance Services attended.
Firefighters had to sue hydraulic tools to extract a trapped female in one of the vehicles. She was assessed on the scene by intensive car paramedics and transported to The Canberra Hospital in a stable condition.
This intersection as mentioned has seen a number of serious accidents over the years. We have called on the ACT Government to install traffic lights at this intersection. The change that was implemented at this intersection was to replace the Give Way signs with Stop signs rather than installing traffic lights.
We wish all the people involved in this accident a speedy recovery.
