The people of Gungahlin are revolting; well one of them anyway… and I don’t mean in appearance!
Coles Express (Shell) and Woolworths (Caltex) are charging the good people of Gungahlin 159.9 c/l for Unleaded fuel in Gungahlin. It’s been that way for over a month, possible much longer, but a month since I have been paying attention. However if you point your car towards Dickson or Braddon you will be able to save 6 cents per litre, paying only (and I use the word “only” in this sentence very loosely) 153.9 c/l.
If you shop at one of the respective supermarkets and use their fuel vouchers you will pay less than 150 c/l. Why are we paying $3 (average) more per tank just because we live in Gungahlin? $3 isn’t much I guess for living on the north side, BUT $3 is raking in some nice rewards got Coles and Woolworths. If you calculate over a 24 hour period that there are 8 customers per hour, in a month that exceeds $17,000 of creamy profit. But we all know that the number of customer’s her hour would far exceed 8 and that cream off the top is really extra creamy profit.
