Teenager to face court for possessing prohibited firearm and offensive weapon

A 15-year-old boy will face the ACT Children’s Court today (Saturday, 7 September) charged with possessing an offensive weapon with intent and possessing a prohibited firearm.

Police were called to a business at 11.50am yesterday (Friday, 6 September 2019) following reports of a teenager threatening staff with a knife at a Mitchell supermarket.

Police will allege the teenager stole alcohol, threatened staff with a knife and was carrying a prohibited firearm.

Officers on patrol in a neighbouring suburb responded and the 15-year old was arrested a short time later.
